Stake Picnic

We had a great activity on Saturday night. The stake had a picnic and along with many fun activities for the kids, two softball games. The first game featured the bishops of the stake along with the stake presidency against the high counsel. In the second game, the Relief Society sisters from Tehachapi played against the Relief Society sisters from Bakersfield.

Jami played left field, and nothing got by her on the night!

I pitched, and had a great time trying to get the High Counsel to swing at really bad pitches!

The Bakersfield Relief Society Sisters played a great game, and beat the Techacapi Sisters in their two inning game.

The Stake Presidency and the Bishops defeated the High Counsel in our game, but it was easy to tell that the years are catching up to all of us. My embarassing moment came when the third base coach sent me on a close play at home, and I accidentally had a collision with the catcher(Ed Weaver) at home plate. I tried to miss him, but I couldn't do it. I was out!

Jami got a hit on her only at bat, and came around to score. It was really a great evening!

Disneyland

Jami and I decided to take the day off on Friday and go have some fun at Disneyland! We met Jami's sister Lynne and her husband Tony with their two boys Josh and Luke for a fun filled day in the park. The crowds were awful, but the company was spectacular as we enjoyed Disneyland through the eyes of youth. We can't wait until we can take our kids and grand kids again!

Last Week Jami and I spent a couple of days at a Sun Pacific semiar in the Ojai Valley. It was nice to be able to get away. While I was in meetings all day Monday with the Board of Directors, Jami had a great day walking and shoping in the little town of Ojai with Barbie Berry.

We had a great weekend with Jessy at school. She is doing realy well, and enjoyed the family time as we participated in the actvities of the weekend, which included a trip to Training Table, and some time for Jessy to spend with her favorite nephew Will!

During one of the activities, we were handed a bag containing both large and small marshmallows, and toothpicks. We were then told to build a building that represents our family. Jessica was quick to suggest that the temple was the building that most represented our family. We set forth to build our rendition of the Salt Lake Temple.
